  Went to Gateway from April, 2017 to July 9, 2017. At first the Easter service was great as my wife and myself enjoyed the service. When trying to fellowship with other members they were friendly. After a few visits my wife and I noticed a few flaws about the church. Those are taking the scripture out the Bible out of context plus the style of worship they do here does not meet my spiritual needs nor my wife's spiritual needs. There are other good area churches in Merced but Gateway is not the church for me or for my family.
  
  I will advise those who like to visit the church is to contact the pastoral staff by telephone before you make a visit to this location. The staff will explain to you how their services are conducted without asking any of the members in the church. I do not highly recommend coming to Gateway but when you visit a church you have to play it through spiritual trial and error. I do not recommend this church to a friend.

  I first started coming to Gateway Community Church in March of 2013 when I started a work site at LifeLine CDC. I felt very comfortable and welcomed the first time that I came to Sunday service. Through the help of Pastor Al and my boss, Monika Grasley, I was baptized for my first time out at Yosemite Lake during Gateway's Lake service on September 8, 2013 and have enjoyed coming to service ever since.
