  I am a senior citizen who just moved to Merced after spending my entire life in the (East) San Francisco Bay Area - Diocese of Oakland. Wow, is it ever HOT out here!
  
  There are two Catholic Churches to choose from in Merced: Sacred Heart and St. Patrick's.
  
  The drive to Sacred Heart is a bit depressing because of the impoverished neighborhood it is located in. The drive to St. Patrick's is beautiful and refreshing.
  
  Parking outside and seating inside Sacred Heart is impossibly crowded and cramped. St. Patrick's is HUGE inside and out with manicured lawns and gardens.
  
  Sacred Heart and all it's liturgies and announcements etc.is predominately Hispanic and I understand 5 words of Spanish at best. St. Patrick's is predominately English. It is the only language I know, and it even bears the name of my family's Patron Saint.
  
  And yet, tomorrow I will be registering at Sacred Heart Catholic Church simply because I don't have to ask directions to the Tabernacle. I wouldn't be able to anyway. It is UP FRONT and CENTER as it should be.

  Super blessed to have our sacred heart church! And our father Jesus Reynaga! Who's been teaching us how to love and learn about our beautiful spirituality! May God bless him for ever!!
